Guadalajara team lends a hand to support local kids
Throughout 2025, members of the MLP Guadalajara team volunteered with the Mexican nonprofit Cucharadas de amor (Spoonfuls of love). The organisation works with children facing challenging economic and social conditions, who are unable to secure a place in public schools or require extra support to continue their studies.
Sixteen members of our Guadalajara team participated in a variety of activities to support Cucharadas’ work with these kids and their families, sometimes bringing their own children to join in. This included preparing and packing food for a fundraiser as well as supplying and applying special paint to protect murals at a school from graffiti. The team also participated in Family Day, a fair where the children and their parents were invited to enjoy time together, playing games and sharing food partly organised by the volunteers. At the Christmas party, eight members of our team served the meal while providing festive entertainment (including dressing up in costumes) for the attendees.
In Guadalajara, Cucharadas de amor works with 84 children between the ages of 7 and 13, offering elementary education support, free activities such as football and the aforementioned events, and workshops designed to engage the families of the kids. Through the programme, the children also receive a nutritious breakfast and snack each day – crucial support to enable their well-being and concentration on their studies.
‘It was truly inspiring to bring these projects to life, initiatives that not only supported children and the community, but also left an impact on the colleagues who volunteered, because seeing the children’s happy faces during the activities was simply priceless,’ says Ana Alatorre, Quality Manager with MLP in Guadalajara. ‘Whether it was organising games and meals, or dressing as a unicorn to bring some light-hearted fun to the holiday party, my colleagues and I were happy to support Cucharadas de amor’s work.’
