For this purpose ED&F Man operates one single Quality and Food Safety Policy, and MLP has implemented a harmonized global quality management system across this whole division. This one standard serving as a single set of HACCP/HARPC-based preventative controls ensures we have regulatory compliance in all countries of operation and destination, and makes sure we source the best products and ingredients from reputable suppliers that meet our standards.
This quality system also supports our operations in managing all potential food safety risks throughout the supply chain; from purchase in origin to delivery to customers including storage and transport in between, ensuring we have full traceability, and our products meet contractual requirements and are fit for their intended use.
MLP can proudly state it has held certifications on leading quality and feed safety standards for many years, such as ISO9001, GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance, US Safe Feed / Safe Food and UK FEMAS/UFAS.

Under a strict regime our products are analyzed both internally and by external, independent, accredited laboratories. This allows us to monitor the quality and safety of our products delivered, and ensures that they are demonstrably safe to place on the market, eliminating product safety risk for our customers.
We use the ISO quality management system across our business. ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.
